Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I book directly on this website?

Booking direct means you're booking through Gwydir Shire Council's official booking platforms — securing the best available rate and ensuring your stay supports the local Shire.

  • Do you have cabins at both parks?

Yes — Bingara Riverside has 8 deluxe cabins (including 1 accessible). Warialda has 7 cabins across 3 layouts (2 standard, 4 deluxe, and 1 accessible). All cabins are pet-free.

  • Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome on sites at both parks — provided they are kept on a leash and under control at all times. Pets are not allowed inside cabins at either park.

  • Do the cabins have linen and kitchen facilities?

Yes — every cabin includes full linen (sheets, blankets, towels, tea towels), tea & coffee facilities, and a kitchenette with microwave, stove, fridge, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

  • Is parking free?

Yes — at both parks, sites, and cabins include free parking. Site bookings include power (on powered sites) and access to the shared amenities block.

  • Are the parks accessible?

Yes — both parks have an accessible cabin available, and Bingara Riverside has an accessible shower and toilet in the amenities block.

  • Can I stay at both parks across one trip?

Absolutely — they're about 50 km apart on the Gwydir Highway (about 40 minutes by car), and we offer a suggested two-night 'Gwydir Loop' itinerary that takes in both. Book through the same platform for both stays.

  • Is there a swimming pool at either park?

Bingara Riverside Caravan Park is next door to the Bingara Memorial Baths. Warialda Caravan Park is adjacent to the War Memorial Olympic Pool. So neither park has a pool inside the gates — but a public pool is steps away from both.

  • Is there caravan storage?

Yes — Warialda Caravan Park offers caravan storage.

  • Do you offer extended-term rates for longer stays?

Yes — Warialda Caravan Park offers an extended-term cabin per week for stays of more than one month, subject to availability.

  • What's there to do in the area?

Plenty — Bingara has the Roxy Theatre, Batterham Lookout, the Memorial Baths, the Gwydir River, and the Heritage Walk. Warialda has Cranky Rock Nature Reserve, All Nations Hill, Koorilgur Nature Reserve, and the Wells Gem & Mineral Collection. Day trips to Copeton Dam, Inverell, Moree's thermal baths, and Mount Kaputar National Park are all on offer. See our Explore the Gwydir Shire page for full details.

  • Where can I get more local information?

Drop in to one of the Gwydir Shire Visitor Information Centres — Bingara at 74 Maitland Street (open Mon–Fri 9 am – 4 pm, Sat–Sun 9 am – 1 pm) or Warialda at 2 Geddes Street (same hours).
